Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a classic Italian desert, this particular tiramisu is best used at a dinner party catering due to the amount of time required to create each layer.

Preparation time: 30mins

Cooking time: 10 mins

Ingredients:

300g of Dark Chocolate

400g mascarpone cheese

150g of double cream, whipped

400ml of black coffee

50 g of caster sugar

6 x table spoon fo dark rum

36 x Sponge fingers

Cocoa powder to dust

 

Method

  1. Add the caster sugar to the coffee until dissolved
  2. Whip the cream until very thick
  3. Melt the chocolate in a large bowl set over a sauce pan with boiling water
  4. Leave chocolate to cool and add cream and the mascarpone
  5. Mix the coffee and rum together into bowl
  6. Dip the sponge finger to lightly cover
  7. Place 3 fingers on a plate
  8. Spoon a layer of the chocolate mixture over
  9. Place 3 more fingers ontop
  10. Spread another layer on top
  11. Add another 3 fingers
  12. Add repeat
  13. Leave to chill of 1 hour in the refrigerator
  14. Dust with cocoa powder dust before serving
