Tiramisu is a classic Italian desert, this particular tiramisu is best used at a dinner party catering due to the amount of time required to create each layer.
Preparation time: 30mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Ingredients:
300g of Dark Chocolate
400g mascarpone cheese
150g of double cream, whipped
400ml of black coffee
50 g of caster sugar
6 x table spoon fo dark rum
36 x Sponge fingers
Cocoa powder to dust
Method
- Add the caster sugar to the coffee until dissolved
- Whip the cream until very thick
- Melt the chocolate in a large bowl set over a sauce pan with boiling water
- Leave chocolate to cool and add cream and the mascarpone
- Mix the coffee and rum together into bowl
- Dip the sponge finger to lightly cover
- Place 3 fingers on a plate
- Spoon a layer of the chocolate mixture over
- Place 3 more fingers ontop
- Spread another layer on top
- Add another 3 fingers
- Add repeat
- Leave to chill of 1 hour in the refrigerator
